Halitosis is one of the common complains presenting to ENT outpatient clinics in which the patient has a significant social embarrassment and loss of self-confidence. Different etiologies of oral malodor were evaluated together with quantitive determination of volatile Sulphur compounds using new spectrophotometric technique as an objective method of assessment and correlation for these etiologies. Our aim is to evaluate relationship of different risk factors for halitosis and severity of patient's complain and to design and check effectivity of new spectrometer technique for objective assessment of oral malodor by measuring level of volatile sulphur compounds in air sample.
